Ghatgaon is the shrine Odisha turns to for protection on the road, which gives a taxi trip here a certain circularity. It sits in the forest belt of Keonjhar, five hours from Puri, and the coconut offering is the thing that stays with most visitors — the sheer scale of it, arriving continuously all day.

Planning the trip
- This is a very long day trip from Puri; many pilgrims prefer to break it with a night in Keonjhar or Bhubaneswar.
- Coconuts for the offering are sold at the temple approach — there is no need to carry one from Puri.
- The forest road through Keonjhar is scenic but slow; the drive is the bulk of the day.
Worth combining with a Bhubaneswar overnight to break the return if you have the time — tell us when you book and we will build it into the same fixed fare rather than adding it as an extra.
How the fare works
This is priced as a return darshan trip, not a one-way drop. The same cab and driver stay with you for the whole outing and wait at the temple while you queue — there is no per-hour waiting charge and no second fare for the journey back to Puri.
