The shortest darshan run from Puri and the easiest to fit around a temple morning. Sakhigopal sits at Satyabadi, twenty minutes up the Bhubaneswar road, and the trip works well as a half-day out — particularly for families who want a second shrine without committing an entire day to the road.
About the shrine
The "witness Gopal" — the deity who, by legend, walked from Vrindavan to Odisha to testify to a promise made between two pilgrims. It is the shrine Odia families visit to seal a vow, and newlyweds still come here to be blessed.

Planning the trip
- The temple closes for a midday break; arriving between 11am and 4pm usually means waiting for the doors to reopen.
- Queues are short on weekdays and noticeably longer on Ekadashi and during the Anasara fortnight.
- Easily paired with Alarnath or a Pipili stop on the same outing — both are on or near the same road.
Worth combining with Alarnath Temple or the applique workshops at Pipili if you have the time — tell us when you book and we will build it into the same fixed fare rather than adding it as an extra.

This is priced as a return darshan trip, not a one-way drop. The same cab and driver stay with you for the whole outing and wait at the temple while you queue — there is no per-hour waiting charge and no second fare for the journey back to Puri.

Travelling with elders
Most of the people we drive on these runs are on a pilgrimage with parents or grandparents, so the pace is set accordingly — no rushing the return, stops when they are needed, and an Innova recommended over a sedan on anything past two hours each way.
